Charity credit card launched by Co-operative Bank
Many people in the UK like to give to charity, but for many the fast pace of life and busy schedules means that charitable causes have to be put on the back burner whilst everyday life and work takes priority.
And all too often, this means that no matter how good the intention of the person the donation never gets made and the charity or good cause loses out. This happens to many people, and results in charities losing a great deal of money in donations.
However, one way in which consumers in the UK can keep to their intention of donating to charity is through the use of a charity credit card. Many consumers in the UK use credit cards on a daily basis for the purchase of all sorts of items, but by using a charity based credit card you can enjoy all the ease, flexibility, and convenience of credit card spending combined with the ability to give to charity without having to take any further action or spend any time arranging your donation, because the card issuer will make your donation for you.
And now the Co-operative bank has launched a new credit card in association with the homeless charity Shelter, whereby cardholders can enjoy using their credit cards for everyday purchases and special purchases whilst at the same time contributing to a good cause – helping the homeless.
The bank will be paying £20 to the charity for every person that successfully applies for the new charity credit card, and then will contribute an additional 25p for every one hundred pounds that goes through on the card.
The credit card offers a range of additional benefits, including up to 59 days interest free credit if the balance if paid by the due date, travel accident cover, and legal and medical cover whilst abroad.
